City and Colour - Little Hell (2011)
(singer-songwriter / contemporary folk / acoustic rock)

Songs for lovers on a night's meadow with a gentle breeze soothing their skin and stars glitterning to engulf their entwined hands in a shimmering light. We Found Each Other In The Dark and Little Hell are definitions of Dallas Green's voice and songwriting skills and I fail to find mediocrity on the album. Yet, there is no instant hook. The acoustic sing-alongs and easy guitar handling make your day go by as a boatride on a lake of summer but it's not the album you and your loved one will remember from your innocent youth. Then again, does every album need to be memorable?
